PROJECTS
We have a broad and interesting remit! Attainable housing has always been a priority (take a look at our 2023 Housing Strategy) but we also recognise the importance of making Coigach a better place for everyone to live and thrive, and are conscious of our fragile environment. CCDC currently divides its work between three main project areas:
- Working Life – this includes housing and our housing strategy, as well as our involvement in the Highland Energy Community Partnership. We are also working in collaboration with Coigach Heritage on establishing a new cafe in the Old Drill Hall in Achiltibuie and have ongoing infrastructure projects, such as Old Dornie Pier.
- Land and Sea – this includes the Coigach Community Garden
- Health and Wellbeing – we have set up a Community Gym in the Coigach Community Hall and are piloting a domestic heating oil buying club
Completed Projects
CCDC has a track record of producing high quality Arts and Heritage projects with community involvement, including the Scots Trad Award winning Talamh Beo album, the Creative Scotland-supported album Six Hundred and Thirty-Five Days, and the Coigach and Assynt Heritage Trail.
