The Community Fruit and Vegetable Growing Survey undertaken in the summer of 2022 showed that there is a real enthusiasm here for gardening: people are keen to get together and share their skills and their produce.

In 2023 we ran a pilot project along at Acheninver – read all about it here. Following on from the success of this project, we were given a fantastic opportunity below…

Established in 2024 on the site of a former commercial garden in Achiltibuie, the Coigach Community Garden provides space for people to grow food and other plants under cover and outside. We have the use of a twin-span Keder house which currently houses 15 small raised beds for individuals/groups, as well as community beds, where produce can be grown for sale through an honesty box. We have set up a community hub corner with seating, tables and a small stove. Volunteers meet regularly on Tuesday afternoons between 2 and 4.30 and visitors are welcome at any time.
