The Coigach and Assynt Collection book

The Coigach and Assynt Collection was commissioned by CCDC in 2020 as part of the ‘Music and Tales of Coigach and Assynt’ project and was compiled by musician, researcher and designer, Ronan Martin. It is the first collection of tunes and songs of this remote corner of rural Scotland. Some of the music was written in the area, some comes from elsewhere and has been adopted by the people here and is now part of our musical fabric. Some of the composers in this collection are well-known nationally and by those of the Gaelic diaspora; others are known only locally.

The 92-page book is full of songs, tunes, photographs and stories and is spiral-bound so it can easily be set on a music stand.
