The Donald MacLeod Memorial Bursary

CCDC’s Education and Training Fund

Photo by kind permission of Fi Taylor.

Donald MacLeod, our brilliant friend and colleague, was an inspirational part of our little team. Donald was instrumental in developing CCDC’s Community Fund. Always an advocate for inclusion, he was determined that the fund should be easily accessible to people in Coigach to help them take part in education and training or activities that would make a difference to them for the better. Sadly we lost Donald in 2021 and he is keenly missed by all at CCDC, the community of Coigach and beyond. We were proud to know Donald and will always be grateful for the valuable contribution he made to the community in his role as Development Officer. In recognition of that, the Education Grant Donald helped set up has now been re-launched as the Donald MacLeod Memorial Bursary. The purpose of this fund is to inspire and enable people belonging to the community of Coigach, aged 16+ to pursue training and education and the fund is open for applications throughout the year.

This photo of Donald was taken by photographer Fi Taylor as part of the Coigach: Who We Are project supported by Coigach Heritage. The resulting book features photographs of Coigach residents taken over the past two or three years and is valuable record of the community.
