Reliable digital connectivity is increasingly essential for rural homes, businesses, farms and estates. Scottish Land and Estates is seeking to better understand members’ experiences of broadband and mobile connectivity across rural Scotland, including the reliability and resilience of services, the impact of outages, and the extent to which individuals and businesses have had to invest in their own solutions. The findings will help them identify common challenges, understand how experiences vary between areas, and gather evidence on emerging issues such as the move from traditional copper telephone networks to digital services.
